Introduction

This system passed the LinuxCertified Certification. LinuxCertified completed certification testing of the LC2430 laptop on 25 October 2003. All configuration files, drivers and packages were integrated into a CD, which will be provided to the customers along with the pre-configured Debian laptop.

Configurations Tested

The following configurations of this system have been certified:

2.66 GHz Pentium IV
40GB Disk (60GB and 80GB disks tested as well)
512 MB Memory (Upgrade to 2 GB tested as well)
SXGA+ TFT resolution:1400x1050 pixel

Methodology

LinuxCertified testing methodology addresses installation, configuration, and operation under the Debian GNU/Linux operating system environment. Detailed information is provided regarding distribution-specific installation and configuration tasks.

The installation portion of this test suite verifies that the Debian GNU/Linux distribution installation program completes in its entirety when reasonable default settings are selected.
The configuration portion describes any post-installation configuration tasks that were required to achieve full system functionality.
The operation portion of this suite validates that the product under test is functionally compatible with the Linux kernel and tested distributions when subjected to a nontrivial work load.
