Linux Network Services Bootcamp

This bootcamp is a fast-paced course and assumes basic Linux system administration expertise and knowledge of networking fundamentals. There is substantial lecture work with continuous hands-on training. At the end of two days you would have a server securely configured with the most important networking services.

The class is complemented by our e-learning website and access to our instructors before and after the class.


The following is a high-level plan for your two days:

Day One  
9:00 - 9:30 AM Intro to Linux Network Services
Review of Pre-Read material
Laptop Orientation
9:30 - 10:30 AM Secured Network Configuration. System & Network hardening techniques.
10:40 - 12:15 PM Apache Web Server - Implementation and Maintenance. Performance tuning. Setting up a Proxy server.
12:15 - 1:30 PM Lunch
1:30 - 3:15 PM Integrating Apache, MySQL and PHP
3:30 - 5:30 PM DNS: Configuring, Maintaining and Securing BIND
Homework reading assignment
   
Day Two  
9:00 - 10:45 AM File Server setup. SAMBA, NFS and FTP configuration and tuning.
11:00 - 12:15 PM DHCP and BOOTP Configuration
12:15 - 1:30 PM Lunch
1:30 - 4:00 PM Sendmail configuration. Mail Management using procmail.
4:15 - 5:30 PM Open Lab. Questions, Post read topics, Closing

Prerequisites

The bootcamp is a fast paced course and assumes basic UNIX system administration knowledge. You should also be familiar with basics of TCP/IP and setting up a system on a LAN. If you have any questions about the difficulty level of the class, please contact us at classes@linuxcertified.com.

FEE : $1,725 (includes all class materials and Linux laptop).

All students will get a free laptop (see specs). You will have a working internet server running on this laptop to take home!!
